Description:
Wim Grunewald was a German bicycle entrepreneur who set up a shop in the 1960s in Wiesbaden, Germany.
There he was responsible for frames (of which some were built by himself) and parts, whilst his wife took care of fiddly repair jobs like tire changes. Grunewald was always fond of very classical bikes, so it is no surprise that he got hold of some Magni frames, which he sold with his own branding on them.

Magni Giuseppe - also known as Magni Peppino "Pep" - was an Italian bicycle manufacturer from Milan, whose frames where mainly built by the expert hands of Giovanni - "Vanni" - Losa. The frame builder from Vittuone - a small city close to Milan - manufactured exquisite bicycles for third brands, maybe most famously the Cinelli Supercorsa from the 1990s to 2008.

Like any other frame built by Losa, this Pep Magni illustrates refined triangular engravings on the lugs and cut-outs underneath the bottom bracket with a "V" shape to symbolise his 'Vanni' nickname. As for the tubes, this frame is made of light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes, the choice of most of the frame builders back in the 1970s and 1980s. It does not happen often that you can get hold of an NOS frame from the 1970s, that is of this quality.
