Description:
Triple Chainsets have been nothing new to touring bikes or tandems when they finally made their way to the racing scene. Giovanni Battaglin had a mechanic attach a small extra chainring onto the Record crank of his Pinarello in 1981. This ingenious mod helped him to put more time between him and his competitors in the Giro d'Italia that year and ultimately led to his victory in this extra tough race.
Suddenly triple cranks were the latest craze and appeared on more and more bikes. And such a rare piece of equipment is this Campagnolo Record Triple Chainset.
A part of this set is also the special Campagnolo Record triple bottom bracket, which allows you to mount this crank on your bike with just the perfect chain line.
It is the ideal match for that Eroica bike you really want to ride but are a bit afraid to, because these hills just kill your knees.
