Information about GazelleGazelle was founded in 1892 in the Netherlands by Willem Kölling and Rudolf Arentsen. Initially they began importing English bicycles to resell. In 1902 their own production started under the name "Gazelle". They soon became very successful, especially exporting to the Dutch East Indies colony. As well as bicycles, Gazelle also produced motorised bicycles and tricycles, but recently decide to draw their focus back to non-motorised bikes. In 1992 the eight-millionth bicycle was built and for their 100 year jubilee the company was awarded the title "royal".
