This CBT Krypton fine road bicyclewas the the absolute top model in the late 80s and early 90s and is quite typical for the extraordinary way CBT bikes were built. The frames are always a bit more attractive, a bit more exclusive and refined than the already elegant standard Italian road bike.

The tubing consists of race level Columbus SLX tubes with inner helical reinforcements, a choice of many professional teams back then.

But what makes the frame really special is the way it has been profiled and joint. The seat tube has a groove on the back side to leave some extra space for the back wheel to move forward, thus shortening the wheelbase. The rear braking cable is elegantly routed inside of the top tube. The seat stays are gracefully attached to the seat lug cluster in a 'shot-in' style and also house the clamping bolt.
The investment cast lugs are all embellished by the distinctive C.B.T sign. And then there is the chromed fork with aero profile blades and 'KRYPTON' boldly stamped to them.

Regarding the components, it is equipped with Shimano 105 (1055 series) parts, known for their utter reliability and splendid functionality. Even though not the top of the line groupset, they offer snappy gearchanges, powerful and well modulated braking and strong drivetrain. As a bonus there the Rigida rims are turning with the premium Tufo handmade tyres.
